Amazon Chime

Hello guys and gals, welcome back to my computers and electronics blog. I thought I would take a step back from talking about photography today, and instead talk about a new service from internet service giant Amazon.

Amazon Web Services.

It has been over a decade since Amazon Web Services was launched, and at the time the cloud and on demand computing service was relatively untouched by Amazon, until now. Earlier this week Amazon launched its unified communications platform, Chime. Essentially Chime is a competitor to both Google Hangout and Skype, and will most likely deliver big blows to any company that focuses on offering enterprise focused meeting software. One of the coolest features I have read about is that Chime will actually call you before a meeting/call, meaning that I won’t miss any more overseas chats with family at 2 in the morning

Chime is set to essentially offer all the different features that other video communication software has rolled out in the past 8 years, including screen sharing, one touch calls, chat rooms, recordable calls, and seamless switching between the app on different devices in case you start a chat on your desk but have to move to the kitchen.. Chime is set to have three plans at first, one for free and two paid.

The free plan only included video and voice chats between two people and no screen sharing, were as the first paid tier has screen sharing, 1GB of stored history and chat rooms for only $2.50 a month. The third tier takes a price hike, up to $15 a month but offers meetings with up to 100 people so it is more geared towards being a big business account. Let me know if you try out this software, and what you think about it. Have a great day!

Polaroid 2.0

Hey everyone, thanks for checking out the first news piece on my computers and electronics blog, I am really excited! I wanted to start off with a post about photography since this is supposed to be mainly a photography blog, so here it is!

Instant cameras are making a comeback!

I am so excited for these thing to be mainstream again, even if Polaroid isn’t at the helm of the technology anymore. Fujimax Instax is a booming business, and they offer some surprisingly good priced cameras. There is also the impossible Project, which aims to keep old Polaroid cameras full of film although at the cost you are better off getting a new camera.

Polaroid Camera

There are so, so many reasons to have an instant camera. You can take a picture and then hand it off to someone immediately, something that digital cameras will never be able to compete with. Of course you will never be able to get the same beautiful photos for your wedding with an instant camera as you would with a full setup and Photoshop, but you will be able to capture pictures with your guests and hand them off immediately. Do you guys own any instant cameras? Tell me what you think of them below. Speak to you again soon!

Welcome to my blog!

Hello lovely people, welcome to my photography blog! My name is Pam in case you can’t tell, and I have a basic love with all thing computer. That is why I first got into photography 10 years ago actually. I got a digital camera for my birthday and I loved it, but I loved messing with the picture on the computer more than anything else. I would mess around on Photoshop for hours at a time, and even had some of my creations printed off. I also can attribute my love of picture taking to my mother, who left me her Canon D-60 camera after she passed. Since then I started taking pictures at my younger brothers football game just like she would for us. I actually love sports photography most out of any type, although nature shooting is a spectacle in itself.
Follow my blog for constant posts about photography, as well as generic information about computers and technology. Expect to see some reviews, news pieces, and some personal stories on here. I hope that this blog can become a large part of my life, and if you are willing to follow me on this journey then maybe it can become a part of your life as well. Thanks for checking my blog out, hope to see you soon.
